Mitipi AG in Fribourg develops Kevin, the presence simulator that makes homes, flats, offices and holiday properties look occupied from the street. Since 2018, one idea: stop the break-in before it starts, without a camera watching your family.
Why we exist
Everyone deserves to leave home without the second thought.
After a break-in, most people never feel quite safe at home again. We started Mitipi to change how burglary is prevented: not by recording it, but by making sure it is never attempted.

Our story
From an idea in Zurich to homes across Europe.
Kevin was conceived in Zurich. Mitipi was founded in 2018 and is now based at Bluefactory in Fribourg, developing each generation of Kevin with Swiss partners.
The idea
Work begins on a device that makes a home look lived-in with light, moving shadows and sound, instead of watching it with a camera.
Kevin launches in Switzerland
The first Kevin ships to Swiss households. Mitipi wins the Global Digital Insurance Agenda (DIA) award for innovation.

Own recordings and geofencing arrive. Mitipi moves to Bluefactory in Fribourg and receives the Plus X Award in Germany.

European Security Award
Mitipi receives the European Security Award for the most innovative burglary prevention in Europe.
Tested, not just claimed
In January 2026 Galaxus tested Kevin.3 and called it “unrivalled in that it’s an easy-to-use, all-in-one solution that delivers a truly spectacular show.” We publish the limits too: one room per device, placement matters, and Kevin deters rather than raises an alarm.
